Virtual Mission Offshore Wind Denmark & the Netherlands

Targeted sessions and rules

Purpose of the Targeted Session is to have the opportunity to pitch your company to Tier 1 Company Siemens Games (for Dutch participants) and Shell (for Danish participants). The emphasis is on pitching innovative ideas that could be of interest to Siemens or Shell.

Shell indicated they are especially looking for pitches with a specific focus on ecology and co-use that can be applicable in offshore wind farms. What are smart innovations that can mitigate the impact of offshore wind on the environment and help the environment thrive? And what can be smart ways to use the space in the windfarm, together with other users of the sea?

Registration for the Targeted Session is open on a first come, first serve basis. If the session is full, each new registration will end up on the waiting list. DWEA and HHWE will inform the registered companies as soon as possible whether or not they are (directly) admitted to the session.

All participants in the virtual mission are able to watch the pitching session, but can’t participate by asking questions.

NB: Dutch SMEs take precedence into participation in this session.

  • The pitch lasts a maximum of 1.5 minutes;
  • No PPT can be used during the pitch, but you can set an image as your background;
  • The pitches will take place live.

All pitching companies, and also the rest of the participants in the virtual mission, can sent a PPT to DWEA or HHWE, which will be shared with Siemens Gamesa and/or Shell. If you want to sent your PPT, please make sure to do so before Friday June 8, 2021.

Introduction Shell

Shell aims to be a major provider of renewable and low-carbon energy. We want to find ways of helping customers – whether households or businesses – to switch to these options through renewable and low-carbon energy and decarbonization services. Renewable & Energy Solutions is key to this. It is the part of Shell that includes integrated power, hydrogen, nature-based solutions (NBS). All of this intends to propel Shell closer towards its target of being a net-zero emissions business by 2050, in step with society, while helping our customers – and the world – limit global warming to 1.5 Celsius.

Shell also just announced a new environmental framework that resolves around protecting the environment, reducing waste and making a positive contribution to biodiversity. There are four priority areas: biodiversity, water, circular economy and waste, and air quality. More can be found here and more specifically here
